Currently all TCPC meetings are held online using either Zoom or Google Meet. You do not need any account to participate in our meetings. Most of our participants join our meetings successfully by simply following the link found in every meeting's calendar listing either from our front page or from our Calendar. A few participants have difficulties caused by problems with their computer, equipment or configuration. Therefore, we've created this article to provide information on testing your equipment.
Testing Zoom
Preface: We recommend that your download and install the Zoom Workplace program or app from https://zoom.us/download. While there is a version of Zoom that will run from within a browser, your experience will be much better using the program/app.
Testing your equipment for Zoom is very easy. Simply point your browser to HTTPS://Zoom.com/test to be sent to the Zoom server and led through a test of your setup. When you've tested your equipment and setup successfully you can return to TCPC.com to join our meeting.
Testing Google Meet
Testing Google Meet requires that you create a meeting and then test your equipment and setup from within that meeting. Go to HTTPS://meet.google.com and start a meeting. Once in a meeting of your own you can test your microphone, speakers and camera. Here's a short video describing the process; note that this video will probably be preceded by an ad that can be skipped once there.
