Windows 8 Preview and Windows Phone
Windows 8, which is under development, will be Microsoft’s newest operating system for the desktop, laptop and tablet market. The same operating system is being designed to go from business desktop to ultra-portable notebooks and tablets to high-end gaming PC’s and home media centers. The new operating system will feature live touch tiles as found on Windows Phone mobile operating systems. Think of a touch tile as a form of a “super icon”. On tablets, Windows 8 will be enabled for gestures with easy navigation. Is Windows 8 overly ambitious to use the same operating system to cover all these platforms? Microsoft will also discuss their latest software for smart phones, Windows Phone 7.
